mad.house GIVES BACK:
Since our founding, mad.house has used its comprehensive editorial chops to assist non-profit organizations and select individuals in telling their stories or bringing their stories to life. Whether it’s an indie feature about street children in Durban, South Africa or young people facing today’s social challenges in Laredo, Texas, we’ve helped to shape stories concerning socially conscious issues which resonate in our gut.
Since 1999, we have been a proud supporter of Scenarios USA, a non-profit organization that uses writing and filmmaking to foster youth leadership, advocacy and self-expression in under-served teens. Scenarios USA asks teens to write about the issues that shape their lives for the annual “What’s the REAL DEAL?” writing contest, and thousands have responded with their raw and revealing insights.
Writing contest winners are given the gift of professional support to actually make their words come to life in short films. Scenarios USA and mad.house have collaborated with noted film makers like Doug Liman, David Koepp, Adam Davidson, Ben Younger, Clark Johnson, Malcolm Lee, Gina Prince-Bythewood, Hector Galan, Michael Apted and Griffin Dunne to name a few.
